Faith

This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. For we live by faith, not by sight.
Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
